Who are the Sweethearts?
|
The Sweetheart Program is a very important part of what we "do" as Texas Elks. Family is the cornerstone of Elkdom. When we improve the life of a child, we also improve and impact their families as well.
The Sweetheart Program raises monies for our State Major Project, which is the Kids Camp. New Braunfels Lodge 2279 and all of the other lodges in Texas are tasked with fundraising and educating members about the important work they do for both the Texas Elks Camp and Special Needs Grants. Money is collected through Red Pig donations, State Fund Drive raffle tickets, and activities or events planned by each Sweetheart for their lodge. Homecoming is the annual meet-up of Sweetheart teams from all of the Texas Lodges. The main goal? Raising funds for the Sweetheart Program. There's a little something for everyone, including games, food, and an auction. |

Pick up a RED PIG from the Lodge and fill it with your spare change throughout the year. Return a full pig to the Office or Bar and the funds raised will go directly to fund our kids camp. Your sweetheart donations make a difference in the lives of children with special needs. Last year, New Braunfels Lodge raised more than $8,000! Your New Braunfels 2279 Sweetheart is Deb Smith Make a donation today! It's easy. |

Texas Elks Camp provides children with special needs and children in foster care an opportunity to try new things, meet new friends and make memories that will last a lifetime. Campers are encouraged to make their own decisions, become more independent and accept new challenges.
Any child with special needs or in foster care age 7 to 21, who is a resident of the state of Texas is eligible for admission to the Texas Elks Camp. No child is denied acceptance on the basis of his or her income level, ethnic origin, race, creed, color or religion. There is no fee. Campers are accepted on a “first-come, first-served” basis. |
